Introduction

In February 2023, OpenStreetMap Uganda embarked on an exciting journey with the receipt of a significant grant from the Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri) through the Esri Non-Profit Program. The grant included a one-year license to Esri products that have significantly boosted our geospatial capabilities and community engagement.

Our experience with Esri’s offerings has transformed our operations at OSM Uganda, enabling us to refine our geospatial tasks and make our procedures more efficient. In addition, it has facilitated data exchange, permitting immediate updates by users within the organization, thereby improving teamwork and output.
